“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” Dr. Maya Angelou.

Harnessing the love for our communities, the Renaissance Chapter of the Links Incorporated brings together friends who are committed to serving our communities.

We are a volunteer organization of distinguished African-American women who commit their time and collective resources to uplift communities in metropolitan Detroit. Our chapter is part of a national organization, The Links Incorporated, that was founded in 1946 by two visionary women who brought their friends together to make a difference in their communities. Today, we are a force of tens of thousands of distinguished African-American women who serve millions of people locally, nationally and abroad.

The Renaissance Chapter was chartered in 1987 and serves metro-Detroit.  Our programming is centered around our national organizations five facets: national trends, international trends, health and human services, the arts and services to youth. Our programmatic theme, Healthy to the CORE, integrates all of the facets to improve the overall health and well-being for underserved populations.

Our purpose remains connected to our founders’ vision of friends coming together to bring hope and solutions to our communities. Through partnerships and hard work, we are able to deliver impactful programs to help change lives.  Some of our partners include: the Detroit Symphony Orchestra who works with us to expose underserved students to classical music and the arts; the Charles Wright Museum, where we raised $250,000 to support the Inspiring Minds exhibit to promote STEM education; and the American Heart Association, who helps us to deliver impactful events and activities to combat leading cause of death for women and men in our country…heart disease.

Our partners also include people, like you, who support our programs with your time, resources and participation. We appreciate all of our partners who work with us to improve the health and well-being of our communities.

Our African ancestors left us with a profound proverb: surround yourself with those who share your mission in order to achieve success.

We invite you to continue browsing our website to learn more about our organization and ways to connect with us along the journey to fulfill this great mission.

Yours in friendship and service,

Linda Little
