Mission & Vision

Using the agenda set by our National Organization, the Renaissance Chapter of the Links, Incorporated strives to continuously enhance our sisterhood to uplift African-American women, while remaining committed to facet programming for African-Americans in metropolitan Detroit.

“Health is the greatest of all possessions” (Isaac Bickerstaff). Health is central to the vitality of a community. Stressors affecting the Black community have a profound impact on the health of its people. The inequities that exist in the Black community were illuminated during the COVID- 19 pandemic. District 2 in Detroit suffered the highest density of COVID-19 deaths in the state of Michigan. Over the next 2 years, the Renaissance Chapter of the Links has devoted our programming efforts to District 2 in Detroit: Linked in Relief. Our Linked in Relief efforts are fueled with an umbrella programming concept, with Health and Human Services as the lead facet.
